Shopping list
The ActivePoint shopping list was designed for customers who don’t have a secure ordering system. The shopping list allows your readers to click on products in the book to order them and has the ability to let you change quantities or remove the item. You can continue browsing at any point, and your selections will be kept in the list. When you have finished shopping, you can fill in your details on the form attached to the list, and then either email or print/fax the order.
Of course, this technology can be used in other ways too – to request quotes, to register interest in a product, to use as a simple notepad reminder system.

Custom GUI
The GUI, or Graphical User Interface comprises the buttons and dashboard above the book. The standard item has space for all functions – however, the customer can redesign this completely if required.  They can change the look and feel of the buttons, the colours and even the sounds made when the page turns. Harvey Nichols book is a good example of this. The GUI looks exactly the same as the website – down to the fonts and shades.

Animation
Animation can take various forms in our publications. We added snowflakes to both Gamestation Christmas, and the Grove Christmas hotel brochure to create a more festive feel . We can also change the rate at which the text appears, and fade it in at different rates as you’d see in a Powerpoint presentation. Stars can be made to flash, images can be made to jump out, hyperlinks can be made to flash – it’s all tailor made to your requirements.

Video clips
ActivePoint e-books can allow video clips to be embedded into our pages. It does not affect the speed of the book, as the videos are streamed from the web, not loaded into the pages. All sound, playback and navigation buttons are included to give a truly professional feel.

Sounds/narration
We are able to add sound, spoken editor’s notes, music or any other sounds you wish to our books.

Personalised tabbing
If your customers are interested in certain pages in the book, and they wish to be reminded – they can tab the page, and call it whatever they choose. Their tab will always be present at the edges of the book, you can have as many as will fit along the page, and they won’t be sent or seen by others. Returning to your favourite page couldn’t be simpler.

Activepoint Scissors
The Activepoint scissors allow you to literally cut out a section of page within the book, and save it as an image. This is useful if you want to send an article or image, or if you want to send a picture of an item in an email. This feature has many of the same benefits as sending the book out on email, open at a specific page – however, it offers slightly more flexibility and on some occasions may be preferable to sending out adjacent product details.

Fully customisable Click-to page
Our books come with their very own “click to enter” page. This page typically shows a picture of the publication cover, and a message to click to enter the book. It is possible to bypass this page totally by using coding we can supply.
You can also add links to your site, detailed instructions, notifications HTML, keywords – anything, within reason. You could also use the same ‘click to’ page to display all your publications in one go – as a library or portfolio page.

Navigator
The navigator is also a feature unique to ActivePoint. When zoomed in to maximum strength, it can sometimes be confusing as to where you are on the page. With this in mind, we developed the navigator which appears when zoomed in, and displays a red box around the area on a miniature version of the double page spread. If you navigate around the page, the red box moves to reflect the area you see. You can also drag the red box around in the navigator to see what you need to see.

Email options
We have two options for email support: one is for the book to open up your native email client (MS Outlook, Mac mail etc), and the other is for a window to open within the book for you to fill in sender and recipient details manually. Both have their place. For example, the native email option is great for telemarketers as it keeps a record of the links and messages in the “sent” items folder.
Sending from the book means you don’t need to have a native client on the computer you are using, and you don’t even need to be working on your own machine.

Tracking stats with XL support
All EasyFlip books come with a stats link to enable you to see how the book has been used. It can filter results based on given dates, so you can analyse your marketing campaign and how effective it has been over a given period of time. You can also view the keywords your viewers have been searching for. This works well in two ways; you can see what your customers are really interested in – and if they are using slang terms, or spelling words incorrectly, we can add those keywords into the database. The results can also be exported to XL to make charts and graphs etc easier to create.

Customised instruction panel
We place a standard instruction panel on the left hand side of the front cover of your book. It covers most of the functionality the ebook offers, but as with everything else on an ActivePoint book – this can be tailored to suit your needs.

Flexible area/product linking
ActivePoint have more commercial ebook experience than anyone else in the market, so we are in an ideal position to advise you on where and how to link your products up. We can give you our suggestions on linking images to text, internal links, external links, complimentary links…it’s all part of the service regardless of which of our great packages you opt for.

Fully supported with an experienced team of consultants
We will provide you with a dedicated account manager to handle your project. They will work in conjunction with our production team, or our development team depending on your requirements. Your account manager is there to take the workload away from you.

Own window display
The ActivePoint EasyFlip book is the only ebook on the market that lives in its own dedicated window. This makes it the largest ebook available, which is a clear advantage for both you and your readers/customers. There is less zooming involved, and your images will have much greater impact. When an ebook is viewed in a browser window, you lose all control of how it will be displayed. With more and more people installing search bars and toolbars, the actual amount of space available to display an ebook is drastically reduced. This is why decided that your publication deserves to be in a window of its own, and to be as large as possible. This way, you have total control.
